Lush Cosmetics Haul, Reviews and How to Store Them!

Hey!

Today I am sharing with you my favorite Lush products I use all the time and some new ones I am trying for the first time!

I love natural handmade soaps and beauty products so much that a year ago I started doing my own cold processed soaps, lip balms, body butter and scrubs. I did a lot of research, I read many books and bought all the ingredients I needed and I really enjoyed it. I still have some ingredients left so I might do some more soy candles and lip balms. I find it very relaxing and you know exactly what you are using on your body.

But making all these things takes time so unfortunately I don't do it all the time and that's why I love Lush, I like that all their products are free from toxins and chemicals and they are against animal fighting. Ok don't get me wrong, I know I use many many other products which are not 100% natural and I like them, but it feels nice sometimes to do a mini detox from all that! I know that they are quite pricey, but it is worth it to get a few products every month.

Bathbombs, Soaps and Scrubs
Face and Hair Masks and Lip Scrub

Lush Fresh Face Masks are AMAZING, the first one I tried was BB Seaweed I think and I fell in love with it. I also always use the Cupcake Fresh Face Mask, especially when I have a breakout or during my period when my skin tends to get a bit more oily. It smells absolutely awesome, it feels as if I have brownie cookie dough in my face! The mask if very thick and it absorbs all the excess oil, it dries out pimples, but at the same time because of the Cocoa Butter it contains, it actually hydrates your skin. This mask also contains linseed powder, cocoa powder, peppermint, spearmint and sandalwood oils which balance the oil in the skin.

I had never tried before the Love Lettuce mask, but because I use Airol Cream on my face every night it is peeling and I needed something gentle to exfoliate but also hydrate. So I decided to try this mask and it worked great for my skin, it didn't irritate my skin at all (because of the Airol cream my skin is extremely sensitive), it gently exfoliated as I washed it off with warm water and my skin was glowing. Love Lettuce has almond shells which are great to polish the skin and almond and lavender oils which are very soothing.

This is  my favorite products from Lush, I use it three or four times per week, but I want to use it every day!The smell is so addictive, I use it to exfoliate my lips with my fingers or with a soft toothbrush. Because of the jojoba oil it leaves my lips super smooth and soft.

Ooohhh my God..this smells absolutely amazing..I am not very good at describing smells, but trust me this is so good..it smells like orange blossom (which is my favorite smell ever) and roses. It is a very light conditioner, I use it in the shower after shampooing and rinse it off, but also as a leave-in conditioner in wet or dry hair. I feel my hair hydrated but not heavy, its just great!

This is the third or fourth time I buy this massage bar, I am in love with the smell, its like Milky Bar with lavender. It so easy to use and leaves my skin sooo soft because of the shea butter. I use it almost every day. I also use it as lip balm.

Thsi bar is great to exfoliate your whole body especially the harder bits, like knees and elbow. I use it in the shower before my shower gel, my skin feels so soft and hydrated after I rinse off. Buffy is a quite strong exfoliator, but the shea and cocoa butter makes the skin smooth and supple. And the smell is also amazing, it smells like sweet nuts and honey. Buffy can be a bit oily or greasy if you don't rinse off with plenty of water, so if you don't like the feel of cocoa butter residue on your skin this bar is not for you : )

It is the first time I try a shampoo from Lush, actually I had never tried a natural fresh shampoo before, so I really hesitated in the beginning, but I decided to give it a try because of its divine smell! I am so glad I bought this shampoo, it is on my top 3 shampoos I have ever tries. It leaves my hair feeling squeaky clean and smelling awesome. Although it is very thick, you can see the smashed bananas inside, it doesn't leave my hair heavy and oily, its a great product. I fell in love with it, I have been using it for the last two weeks now and my hair is much softer, even my ends! The instructions say that it is great for colored hair, but I am not sure because I don't dye my hair. I am buying this shampoo again for sure!

This is another product I tried for the first time and also fell in love with it. I was looking for a really hydrating and restoring treatment for my hair, so I decided to try H'Suan Wen Hua. I have used it two times only so far, once a week, but I highly recommend it already. After I used it I blow-dried my hair and flat ironed the ends, but my hair was still super soft, even the next day. My hair is very thin and not really damaged, but I think this would work great on thick long hair as it has fresh free range eggs and bananas which have oily moisturizing properties. Its smell also very good, like herbs and cinnamon.
I use it only in my ends and them put a shower cap, the hot temperature helps the oils penetrate fully, I leave it for 3-4 hours and then wash and shampoo. After this I guarantee your hair will be glossy and smooth.
When doing any hair treatment, always put your hair in a bun
and wear a shower cap!

This scrubs works wonders!! It is the perfect foot scrub, it is easy to use, it smells like lime and herbs and leaves my feet amazingly soft. To use it, break a small piece and as soon as you wet it, it will start bubbling and then you start scrubbing your feet. I usually do it in the shower, but it is also very nice to soak your feet in a big bowl with warm water, throw in some pieces, rub your feet and relax : )

Bath Bombs

Lush's bath bombs are very very good, but there are so many choices and different smells that I don't even know which one to use every time I take a bath!! The leave a nice smell and color in the water, but be careful when using the ones with seaweed or herbs, as they might clog the drain of your bath, just try to catch them when you are emptying the bath.

Tisty Tosty
Phoenix Rising
Yuzu and Cocoa
Fizzbanger

Big Blue

Soap Samples

The customer service in all Lush shops is great and they always give you samples to try, and the sizes are pretty big!! the three of them smell amazing, but I think my favorite one is Honey I washed The Kids, it leaves my hands soft and the sweet smell of buttery honey stays in the skin even after a few hours.

Sea Vegetable
Willow Pattern
Honey I Washed the Kids

How to store your Lush Products

I always place my bath bombs in a nice basket I have in my bathroom, so I can see what I have and use them often. They also look very nice as decoration and make the whole bathroom smell like a spa!
You can also store your bath bombs in a glass jar, this way they keep all the smell and look very nice also in your room.
The massage bars like Buffy and the Stepping Stone scrub bar, should be stored in a plastic bag, or something similar, always from steam and hot temperatures, otherwise they will start melting, so it is better to keep them in your bedroom.

My Vitamins and Supplements!

Hey!

My friends ask me all the time about the vitamins and supplements I take which ones are better for hair, nails or for energy. I am not an expert on that but every year I visit my doctor and ask him what I should take and what is better for my needs.

So today I did a bit of shopping on Holland and Barret and Boots, that's where I buy all my vitamins, and I want to share it with you and explain what and why I take it.

I have tried many different brands and types of supplements, but these work for me the best and I have been taking them for about 3 years.

Please ask yor doctor before taking anything, like i said before I am not a expert, what works for me might not work for you or maybe you have different needs : )

Multivitamins with Iron

The first thing I take in the morning is a large glass of water and another of fresh orange juice and one pill multivitamin with iron. I have been taking this daily for about two years and it has really helped me, I can feel the difference not only on my hair and nails, but also I don't feel tired and sleepy during the day. I had anemia   when I was younger, because my period was very heavy (one of the symptoms of polycystic ovary syndrome) so my doctor advised me to always take iron, especially during the days I have my period.

What the iron actually does in our bodies is to carry life-giving oxygen to our blood cells, it is a vital element for muscle health, oxygen is needed by every and each part of our bodies to perform their functions.  I know that there are people who say that multivitamins does nothing for them, but I am extremely pleased with Boots vitamins, there are some periods when I forget to take them and I can really feel the difference. I recommended these to two friends and they are also very happy with them. Boots does also the same multivitamins without the iron.

Of course you can find iron in many foods like red meat lentils, mussels, oysters, beef or chicken liver, pumpkin seeds, nuts and spinach.

Triple Omega 3-6-9

In the morning I also take one Omega 3-6-9 pill, the instructions say to take one pill three times daily, but my doctor told me that one is enough if I eat healthy. Fatty acids are vital for our bodies, we need them so that our body systems like skin, brain and circulation can function properly. However, our bodies cant produce Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids, and thats why we need to eat foods which are full of them!

Omega-3 is found naturally in:
  • salmon, sardines, tuna
  • chia seed, wheat germ and canola oils
  • brazil nuts and walnuts
  • spirulina and pumpkin seeds
Now, Omega 3- and Omega-6 fatty acids need to be combined to produce all the health benefits, but we have to eat them in the right amount, Omega-6 to Omega-3 ratio should be 2:1, so we need to eat twice as much Omega-6 as Omega-3.

Omega-6 is found naturally in:
  • olive and sesame oil
  • raw kale, broccoli, lettuce
  • chia seed oil
  • pistachios
Omega-9 fatty acid is not essenial for our bodies, but it is produced when there is enough Omega-3 or 6. Omega-9 helps to prevent heart disease and it lowers cholesterol levels. It also helps our immune system function.

Omega-9 is found naturally in:

  • avocados
  • pecans, cashews, pistachios and hazelnuts
  • almonds and macadamia nuts

Hyaluronic Acid

When I asked my doctor about hyalouronic acid pills, he told me that it is mainly used to treat joint problems, as it plays a vital role in the smooth working of the joints and helps maintain healthy connective tissues.  However, it can also help with skin problems. Hyaluronic acid restores water in the skin and it provides moisture. There are many facial treatments where doctors inject it directly to the face to reduce wrinkles. Many people say that after taking hyaluronic acid pills for a long time have not seen any difference, but I have seen a difference not only on my skin, sometimes I forget to use a moisturizer but my skin is still hydrated, but also on my knees. I work out almost every day and I used to have knee pain, I am not sure why, but now it is much much better! My doctor advised me to drink this with lots and lots of water.

Natural Cranberry Concentrate

Cranberries contain sooo many antioxidants and they can actually prevent bacterial buildup. Cranberries are great for a healthy urinary tract, but it is used to prevent urinary or bladder infections and not treat them. Because of the antioxidants, it is also good for your skin. It is very concentrate so I use it in juices and smoothies, it has a very sweet taste!

Spirulina Powder

I first tried spirulina powder a few weeks ago at my gym, I bought a fresh protein smoothie which had spirulina powder in it and some fruits. So I decided to do some research and this is actually used by vegetarians and vegans as an alternative to animal protein, however this is not the reason I started taking it, I love meat, but spirulina powder has many other nutrients such as vitamins A, B complex, D and K, minerals like iron, magnesium and potassium and it is also a good antioxidant. Spirulina powder also has chlorophyll and alkaline which makes it a strong alkaliser that counteract the acidity in our bodies from processed foods!
The taste and smell is horrible..but you can mix it in a smoothie or your protein shake!

Coconut Milk

I love milk and I used to drink it everyday, with my coffee, tea or cereals, but two years ago I stopped because I realized I felt so bad after drinking it, I didn't digest it very well and I felt bloated. I read somewhere that as we get older there is chance we become lactose intolerant, so maybe that's what happened. So I started drinking soy, almond or coconut milk. I found the almond milk a bit watery, I prefer the soy one, but my favorite is coconut milk. I love that you can taste the coconut and it is so good, it hydrates the skin and hair. I don't drink it with my coffee, but I make amazing coconut hot chocolate and chai coconut latte (you can check the recipe here ).

The Best Homemade Natural Allergy Syrup!

Hey!

Hope you had a great weekend!

I love spring, but since I moved to London I suffer from hay fever which is a very common allergic condition caused by the tree pollen, grass or flower pollen that is released in the air during spring and summer.

It very strange for me because I never had or have any other allergies to anything. And even more strange is that every year my allergy strikes in a different form..the first years was my eyes, I woke up and they were extremely swollen and itchy, then it was my runny nose, and this year the worst..the inside of my nose is so dry that it bleeds, it is very sore and every morning blocked and also my throat is super itchy and sore. And I know it is not a cold, because I've had these symptoms for weeks now and it gets worse when I am outside.

There are many treatments and over-the-counter medications to treat hay fever, or creams and balms to put on your nose to block the pollen (this really helped me), but I also do a homemade natural allergy remedy syrup, which a friend of mine showed me, and it really works for me. This syrup is god for any other allergies, it relieves dry coughs, soothes sore throats and the good thing is..it tastes amazing too!

Here is what you will need:
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tsp raw honey
  • 1/2 tsp bee pollen
  • 1 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice

Preparation:
  • Boil some hot water
  • Mix all the ingredients together in a cup of hot water
  • Drink twice daily

I really hope you liked this post and let me know if the syrup helped alleviate your allergy symptoms!

Thank you for reading!

JustFab Shoes Haul and Reviews!

Hey!

Happy Friday..I love Fridays! This week has passed by so fast, the weekend is so close!

This is the second part of my JustFab haul where as I promised will do a review on the shoes I bought!
Enjoy : )

 Ankara
I don't even know how to start describing my love for these shoes...I adore them! They are one of the most beautiful shoes I have ever seen. I wasn't sure if I liked them when I first saw them online, but after reading some reviews and noticing that there were limited quantities only after a few days it was released, I decided to buy them. These are the perfect sandals to wear with jeans, shorts and dresses, with a sport chic outfit,  for drinks or at the office..actually with almost everything and everywhere!

Lille
These shoes are extremely high, but the platform on the front makes it very comfy and easy to walk..However if you are not used to walking in high heels be very very careful..The color is a cream neutral beige , which makes the legs look longer (I need that!) and the T-strap looks sweet. The only thing that kind of bothers me about Lille is that the front is a bit pointy, it didn't look like that online, but still it is a nice platform court which you can wear very easily with any color.

Trento
Trento is an amazing dupe for Jean - Grey Pink by L.A.M.B., which actually costs $344.99!!! L.AM.B. is Gwen Stefani's shoe and clothes line. I love Trento so much because the quality is awesome, it looks expensive (for only £35!), it is very high and sexy. It looks great with a leather pencil skirt or leather pants.

L.A.MB. vs JustFab

Artois
These shoes were out of stock for a long time..and I know why..they are just too beautiful. When I opened the box I went crazy, they are much nicer than on the pictures. I love that the studs on the back shine as I walk and the light hits them. I am in love with these, great for summer and winter looks.

Bellagio
These sandals are super comfortable, I am sure I can walk on them for hours, the strap on the ankle makes them very steady on the feet. The color is a beautiful red-fuchsia which will look amazing with a nice tan! It comes also in a green color which I really wanted, but unfortunately it is already sold out : (

I really hope you enjoyed this post!

Thank you for reading!

Hope you have a lovely Friday and an even more amazing weekend!

JustFab UK Bag Haul and Reviews!

Hey!

I hope you all had a beautiful sunny weekend.

The long-waited spring weather is finally here! For the last two weeks the weather in London has been awesome, sunny, hot and sun makes everybody much much happier!

In one of my first posts I did a review on JustFab UK Daredevil bag which was the first item I purchased and totally fell in love with it. If you are new and never heard about JustFab before, it is a personalized shopping website. First you take a quiz to create your personal style profile so that JustFab stylists can get to know you better, then every month they will send you a handpicked selection of new shoes, bags and jewellery for you to choose from. Everything costs £35 and delivery is free. Of course you have the option to skip a month and not buy anything, but trust me...you will almost never do that!

I have already quite a large collection of JustFab, so I decided  do a haul and review for you and give you some nice OOTD and OOTN ideas!

I will start with one of their best seller handbags, which I believe is already sold out, the beautiful Fifth Avenue bag in Cobalt/Multi and Taupe/Multi. This bag is precious, it is one of my favorites,  I first bought the coral one and could not resist not buying the blue as well. Fifth Avenue bag is a great dupe for the Celine Trapeze bag. The size is perfect, I can fit so many things inside, wallets, makeup-bag, iPad and all my daily must-have stuff. The bag is actually bigger than it looks, as you can open the sides to make it bigger or just fold them back inside.

The only problem I had with Fifth Avenue, and I know many people complained about it, is that magnet buckle is not very strong and when carrying the bag from the top handle it opens. Although I noticed that if the bag is not full, it wont open. Otherwise, you can use the body-cross strap that comes with it, it still looks awesome.

Icon Bag

Icon bag is another JustFab best seller, it is an amazing dupe for famous  Hermes Birkin bag and it comes in 4 colors  green, pink, black and tan. If you are a JustFab member then you must have seen the Law bag, which is also a best seller, its design is very similar with Icon, except it has an Ostrich like pattern design. Also, the Icon bag is a bit smaller than Law, but still is quite big.

I wanted to get the tan one, but it was sold out so bought the green and I am very happy I did because I did not have one. The color is kind of a light green, beautiful shade for spring/summer (although you cannot really see it in my pictures, the lighting did not help..) Its size is quite big, but I love big bags so it is perfect for work, I can fir so many things inside. The metal details of the bag are gold and  comes with a strap, but I think it looks nicer without it.

Thank you for reading and have a beautiful day!
