My Brief Skin Story & Concerns

Hey!

Before I start doing any skincare product review, I would like to talk a bit about my skin type and concerns, after all we all have different skin types and what works for me might not work for you.

For the past 5-6 years I can say that I have a typical combination skin, although during my teen years it was more oily and I struggled with acne due to endometriosis and polycystic ovaries. So as you can imagine I have tried all sort of creams, brands, antibiotics and even Roacutanne.

Red marks on my cheeks

Thankfully,  for many years now my skin has been really clear (my ovaries as well, I am on Yasminelle) but it is sensitive and I get some pimples here and there during those days of the month..!

Because my skin is very fair, I have some small redish marks and a few scars from old pimples, which kind of bother me a lot. Some of these marks are almost gone due to a new treatment I started 3 weeks ago with Airol cream (tretinoin 0.05%) .

This cream has been one of the most amazing products I have ever used in my life and although it is quite early to see full results, I am super excited and pleased. I will dedicate a post to talk to you about Airol cream and my experience with it up to now. It is a very strong cream which you can only buy with a doctor's prescription and you need to be extra cautious when using it and always wear sunscreen!!

Not perfect, but at least clear skin : )

I am sure that many girls have the same skin problems and concerns that I have or had, so there is no need to worry about it, just be patient and everything will get better!Positive thinking and attitude helps : )

I am always on the hunt for the perfect products and will share everything I try, the good ones and bad ones. My next post will be on face cleansers I use and love!

This is my brief skin story,I am sorry if it was a bit chatty, I will be using many pictures on my next posts.

I hope you enjoyed this post!

Lots of Love

  1. Oh my, I'm under research for endometriosis at the moment myself, although my ovaries are okay (the question is where it is then). I haven't had any skin problems until recently (1 year), but it probably doesn't have anything to do with that. For me my situation is pretty horrible at the moment, so I hope it turned out well for you.

Love the picture with the cute dog, looks pretty perfect to me! ;)

    1. Hello Ravanel!!thank you so much for your kind words!
Some women have endomitriosis on their uterus..I had two surgeries a few years ago and I have been on the pill for about 4-5 years.
Maybe its ur hormones or an infection and you need antibiotic..I m not a doctor, I m just trying to help based on my own experience..
:( dont be sad I was in a pretty bad situation as well, the last breakout I had was four months ago I had some huge cysts but I immediately started taking Minocin which saved me.
I really hope everything goes well :)

    2. So happy it's going well now!

It's not an infection, I've had the monthly pain since I was 12 (which is 13 years ago now), and it's been increasing slowly ever since. Only it's not in my uterus either, that was already investigated. Probably need a surgery so they can find out what's going on, next appointment to make plans is Monday. I tried a pill as well, but it made me really really sick (pain didn't go away for 3 weeks, and you can probably imagine how terrible that is). So I hope it won't be the same for all pills!

The skin was probably an infection for me - luckily nothing to do with hormones. I got a medicine and it's already better now after 3 days (!). So I'm hoping it will disappear in a few weeks.

It's good to hear about someone else in (sort of) the same situation. I'm looking forward to your other posts! :)

I dont know if you smoke (I hope not!!!) but I used to,I quit 4 months ago and I have seen a huge difference in many things including my skin!
Most of the products I use are for acne-prone and sensitive skin so I hope you you like them : )
